How we choose a grotesque
We test every sans on five words: Hamburgefonts, Rhythm, 1234, Zürich and a client name.

The note
The test
Five words, printed at 9 and 90 points. If the numerals wobble at small size, we reject it. If the R looks fussy at large size, we reject it.
Why plain
A grotesque should disappear. Its job is to make the blackletter look intentional.
The short list
There are perhaps six that pass. We keep them in a drawer.
