Geschichte
The story
The brief
A new library with a central spiral stair and six reading rooms that all looked the same. Students used the stair as the map.
The letters
Each floor is a large numeral on the stair wall; each room has a Fraktur capital A to F above the door. Shelf labels are mono caps, one line each.
The result
Room bookings became easier and the information desk added a plant. The system fits on one A3 sheet.
Students say A is the quiet one. They never say that about signs.
